Everyone talks about HighLevel's 40% recurring commission. Far fewer people read the affiliate agreement that decides when that 40% actually reaches your bank account. This guide walks through the payout rules in plain language: what earns a commission, when it gets paid, what can cancel it and which promotion methods will get you removed from the program.

## TLDR

- HighLevel advertises [40% recurring commissions with monthly payouts](https://www.gohighlevel.com/affiliates?fp%5Fref=details).
- The [HighLevel affiliate agreement](https://www.gohighlevel.com/affiliate-terms?fp%5Fref=details) (last updated April 2023) also lists a 5% second-tier commission.
- A commission is only "earned" once the customer's account stays in good standing for at least 45 days.
- Payouts go out on the 15th of each month, once your balance reaches $50.
- Refunds and chargebacks are deducted from future payouts. Brand bidding and self-referrals are banned.

## Who This Is For

- Agency owners who already recommend HighLevel to clients and want to get paid for it.
- Bloggers, YouTubers and educators in the marketing and small business space.
- New affiliates wondering why their first commission hasn't shown up yet.

## What HighLevel Pays Affiliates

HighLevel's official affiliate page promotes 40% recurring commissions with monthly payouts. The affiliate agreement lists the account types that qualify:

- Single Location accounts (the Starter plan).
- Agency Unlimited accounts.
- Agency Pro (SaaS) accounts.
- The White Label Mobile App upgrade.

Each of those earns 40%. If someone you recruited as an affiliate refers a customer, you earn 5% on that sale as a second tier. We'll cover that properly next Sunday.

Here's what 40% looks like at each plan's list price:

| Plan | Monthly price | Your 40% |
| ---------- | ------------- | --------------- |
| Starter | $97 | $38.80 a month |
| Unlimited | $297 | $118.80 a month |
| Agency Pro | $497 | $198.80 a month |

That's the monthly amount for as long as the customer keeps paying, based on HighLevel's "recurring" promise. The agreement itself doesn't spell out an end date, so treat the program page as the commitment and check your dashboard for actuals.

## When You Actually Get Paid

This is where new affiliates get confused. A signup today is not money next week. Per the agreement, three conditions have to line up.

### 1\. The 45-Day Rule

A commission is only "earned" once the customer's account has stayed in good status for at least 45 days after the sale. A customer who cancels in the first few weeks earns you nothing.

### 2\. Paid on the 15th

Payouts go out on the 15th of each month, following HighLevel's receipt of payment for the sale.

### 3\. The $50 Minimum

Your combined commissions need to reach $50 before a payout is sent. If you don't reach $50 within 120 days, the agreement says those commissions are forfeited.

Put together, expect your first payout to land well after your first referral pays, not the same week. A single Starter referral at $38.80 a month needs a second month or a second referral to clear the $50 minimum.

## How Referrals Get Credited to You

HighLevel tracks referrals with a cookie from your affiliate link.

- If a prospect clicked several affiliates' links, the agreement says the most recently acquired cookie generally gets the credit.
- The agreement doesn't publish a fixed cookie length, so don't build your strategy around one.
- Use the same tracked link everywhere so every click counts toward you.

The practical lesson: the last helpful touch tends to win. A clear, honest comparison or setup guide that people read right before signing up does more than a link buried in an old post.

## What Can Cancel a Commission

- **Early cancellation.** If the account isn't in good standing for 45 days, no commission.
- **Refunds and chargebacks.** If a commission was already paid and the sale is refunded or charged back, it's deducted from your future payouts.
- **The 120-day window.** Balances under $50 for 120 days are forfeited.
- **Breaking the rules.** Prohibited methods can cost you more than one commission. See below.

## Rules That Get Affiliates Removed

The affiliate agreement bans these:

- Bidding on branded terms like HighLevel, GoHighLevel or GHL in paid search.
- Self-referrals.
- Cookie stuffing, pop-ups that drop cookies and misleading links.
- Unsolicited bulk email and spam.
- Discount codes without HighLevel's written authorization.

We broke down the paid search rules in detail in [the HighLevel affiliate brand bidding policy](https://netpartners.marketing/gohighlevel-affiliate-brand-bidding-ppc-policy/).

## Why the Trial Length on Your Link Matters

Since commissions depend on customers sticking around past 45 days, anything that helps them succeed early helps you get paid.

Some HighLevel pages, like the one I send people to, offer a [30-day free trial](https://www.gohighlevel.com/details-ai-agency-white-label?fp%5Fref=details). That gives a new user a full month to set up their account before the first charge. People who build something real during the trial are more likely to still be paying when the 45 days are up.

Pair the longer trial with a getting-started guide, like our [is HighLevel free?](https://netpartners.marketing/is-gohighlevel-free/) explainer. That way people arrive with realistic expectations.

## How to Set Up Payouts

The agreement requires affiliates to register with a third-party payment provider to receive commissions. Do that when you join, not when your first commission is waiting. Processing fees from the provider may be deducted from payouts.
