HighLevel Updates: New Features for April 20-24, 2026
HighLevel shipped a broad set of platform updates during the week of April 20 through April 24, 2026. Voice AI gained agent-to-agent call handoffs, 22 additional languages, and a rebuilt custom action system. WhatsApp added native voice calling in private beta, ecommerce stores picked up four upgrades, and agencies received new Stripe Tax powered compliance tooling.
This article covers every change from that release week in one place. For the full month at a glance, see the April 2026 HighLevel updates roundup.
Voice AI: Agent Transfer, 22 New Languages, and Custom Action 2.0
Agent Transfer
A Voice AI agent can now pass a live call to another Voice AI agent mid-conversation. You connect up to three destination agents to a root agent, write a natural language trigger for each, and optionally have the agent speak a short handoff line during the switch. Summaries, data extraction, and workflow triggers from every agent in the chain merge automatically, and each call log shows a call-flow diagram of the full transfer path. The root agent controls the greeting, maximum call time, working hours, and backup behavior for the entire chain. This differs from Call Transfer, which routes the call to a human phone number.
For agencies, the practical win is replacing one oversized prompt with focused specialists for discovery, pricing, and scheduling. Each specialist carries less context, which lowers token usage per response and reduces instruction drift on complex flows.
22 New Languages and a Voice Model Picker
Voice AI now supports 54 languages, up from 32. Additions include Hebrew, Thai, Urdu, Persian, Czech, Serbian, Marathi, Kannada, Swahili, Welsh, and Afrikaans, opening markets across the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, and Africa. A new Voice Model picker beside the voice selector lists every compatible ElevenLabs, Cartesia, and OpenAI model with a short description and per-minute cost. Agents default to Auto, which selects the best model for the chosen language, and incompatible models and voices are hidden automatically. ElevenLabs V3 covers every language on the platform. Agencies can now sell AI voice agents to clients in these regions without workarounds.
Custom Action 2.0
Custom actions in the new voice agent builder were rebuilt from the ground up. Actions now support GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE requests plus bearer token, API key, and basic client secret authentication. A redesigned configuration modal separates general details, API connection, and testing into tabs, and schema-driven setup means the agent asks callers only for the fields your endpoint actually needs. JSON schema and cURL views show exactly what will be collected and sent, and collected fields can be assigned to query parameters or the JSON body. Existing custom actions keep working unchanged and will migrate automatically within two to three weeks.
WhatsApp Voice Calling Enters Private Beta
Native voice calling inside WhatsApp conversations is now in closed beta. Teams can place and receive calls in the same thread where a customer has been chatting, with no external dialer and no need to share a phone number. The release includes callback requests for missed calls, call buttons inside the conversation view, configurable available and temporarily unavailable hours, and permission flows that adapt to whether the messaging service window is open.
Each sub-account needs a phone number in connected state, a WhatsApp Business messaging limit of 2,000 or higher, and a number not running on coexistence. Configuration lives in the Calling tab under WhatsApp settings. The beta is web only, with mobile support planned for the first half of May 2026. For agencies running WhatsApp channels for clients, this closes the gap between chat and phone: high-intent leads and complex support issues escalate to voice in one click while the logged conversation thread stays intact.
Ecommerce: Currency Formatting, Checkout Consent, and Safer Deletion
Online stores received four updates this week:
- Locale-based currency formatting. A Store Settings toggle displays prices as $1,000.00 or €1.000,00 based on the page language and the visitor's location, across product lists, product pages, cart, and checkout. This is display formatting only, with no exchange rate conversion, and it falls back to en-US when locale data is missing.
- Terms and Conditions consent at checkout. Merchants can require a consent checkbox, unchecked by default, ahead of the payment button. Checkout is blocked with an inline error until the customer agrees, and the label text and policy links are customizable. This supports compliance needs in the EU, the UK, and regulated industries.
- Scoped store deletion. Deleting a store now removes only store pages such as product lists, product details, cart, checkout, and thank you pages. The rest of the website stays untouched, and updated confirmation messaging makes the scope clear. Removing an entire site remains a separate Delete Website action.
- Printful live shipping rates. A system-managed shipping profile is created automatically when Printful products sync, enabling live rates at checkout. Existing stores activate it by updating any Printful product. Deleting the profile requires reinstalling the integration to restore it.
For agencies managing client stores, scoped deletion alone removes a serious risk: accidentally wiping a full website while cleaning up a store.
CRM: Custom Object Templates and Expanded Date Reminders
Seven pre-built Custom Object templates landed in the Template Library: Properties and Transactions, Policies and Claims, Vehicles and Service Orders, Subscriptions and Billing, Events and Tickets, Pets and Pet Care, and Service Jobs and Projects. Each applies objects, folder-grouped fields, and associations in one click, with a preview page showing full details before you commit. The templates were built by analyzing how existing accounts actually use Custom Objects, and agency admins can hide or show them per sub-account. The feature currently sits behind a Labs flag. For agencies onboarding niche clients, this compresses hours of CRM schema design into seconds.
Separately, custom date reminder triggers now read Opportunity date fields in contact workflows, plus Custom Object and Company date fields in workflows built on those record types. You can start a renewal follow-up from an opportunity close date or fire an internal alert from a custom record's expiry date without workarounds.
Pipeline and Contact Views Get More Structured
Opportunity Smart Lists, now in sub-account Labs, bring saved views to Opportunities in both List and Board formats. Each smart list stores advanced filters, sorting, and field configurations, can appear in all pipelines or only selected ones, and can be set as the default view for a pipeline across the whole sub-account. Duplication, CSV export, view and edit permissions, shareable links, and a centralized management page complete the set. Teams standardize how pipeline data is reviewed instead of rebuilding the same filters every day.
On mobile, contact profiles gained an Activity tab in the iOS and Android apps: a chronological, filterable feed of forms, calls, appointments, and other events, with tap-through detail where available. Field teams can qualify a contact with full history without opening the web app. The contacts module also received a redesigned Manage Smart List page in Labs, aligned with the HighRise design system.
Builder Updates: Form Theme Refresh and Schema Markup Deletion
Forms, surveys, and quizzes received a new default theme with updated fonts, spacing, rounded corners, and more consistent input styling. File upload fields now display supported file types and size limits with configurable header text, the payment component adds a direct Add Product option, date placeholders follow the selected format automatically, and signature fields support custom placeholder text. Client-facing forms look polished out of the box with far less manual styling.
The Website and Funnel Builder now supports deleting schema markup, one schema at a time or all at once, through Form View, JSON View, or a conversational AI prompt. Destructive actions require confirmation, and deleted schema can be recovered by restoring a previous page version and copying the JSON forward. Deletion is page-specific and takes effect on publish.
Tax Compliance for SaaS Billing and Reselling
Two Stripe Tax powered features address a longstanding compliance gap. Automatic tax collection for SaaS subscriptions, in private beta with a Labs rollout planned within weeks, calculates and applies VAT, GST, or sales tax at checkout and during recurring billing based on customer location. Agencies reselling HighLevel plans under their own brand can choose inclusive or exclusive tax behavior, assign tax codes to plans, and set category-level overrides. It requires a Stripe integration on the SaaS V1 system with Stripe Tax enabled.
Global Tax Compliance for reselling, live for all agencies via Labs, extends coverage to more than 100 countries and includes usage products such as SMS, WhatsApp, AI, calls, and email, plus SaaS subscriptions and marketplace apps. It supports automatic or manual collection per jurisdiction, tax applied at wallet recharge or at month end, per sub-account invoices, and a reports dashboard with bulk export. Calculations come from Stripe Tax, and agencies remain responsible for registering with tax authorities, verifying amounts, and remitting what they collect.
Marketplace and Template Library Improvements
The Installed Apps page was rebuilt with separate Agency and Sub-account views. Agencies can see connection status and current plans, edit plans directly from the list, and use chip filters to surface apps with updates available, payment failures, or broken connections. A sub-account count on each app drills down to exactly where it is installed, and fixes can be applied without extra navigation. Managing apps across dozens of client accounts gets noticeably faster.
In Labs, the Template Library is now integrated with the App Marketplace. A Marketplace tab lets you browse, preview, purchase, and install templates directly into the Email, Funnel, and Website builders, while a Sell on Marketplace option lets designers list their own work for sale. Agencies with strong template output gain a revenue stream inside the platform itself.
Smaller Improvements Worth Noting
- Social Planner's Comment Manager now covers Communities: view and reply to community comments, mention members, and stay synced with edits made on the native platform. Attachments are not supported and replies cap at 8,000 characters.
- Audit Logs now record notification preference changes with before and after values, under a dedicated module filter at the sub-account level.
- Conversations displays the page name on Google Business Profile reviews and responses when multiple pages are connected, matching how Facebook and Instagram already work.
- Legacy API keys unused for more than 90 days are automatically marked expired, with email warnings before expiration. New v1 keys can no longer be created; Private Integration Tokens are the recommended replacement.
- Agent Studio flags missing required fields with a warning notification and amber node icons before you test, instead of failing with cryptic errors.
- AI Studio expanded its internationalization support and improved publish reliability and platform stability.
- The Email Builder can attach files from the Media Library to email actions.
- Public APIs are now available for Ad Manager.
- The mobile app received performance improvements.
- A seven-lesson course on managing in-person networking with HighLevel was added to the University Learning tab.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can use WhatsApp voice calling right now?
It is in closed private beta and web only. Sub-accounts need a connected phone number, a WhatsApp Business messaging limit of 2,000 or higher, and a number not on coexistence. Mobile support is planned for the first half of May 2026. You can track this and other pre-release features in the HighLevel beta watch.
Do existing Voice AI custom actions need to be rebuilt?
No. Existing custom actions keep their current label, remain fully editable, and continue working with no behavior change. All actions will migrate automatically to Custom Action 2.0 within two to three weeks, with no action required.
Does locale-based currency formatting convert prices between currencies?
No. It changes only how prices are displayed, using separators, decimals, and symbol placement that match the visitor's locale. No exchange rates are applied, and the system defaults to en-US formatting when locale data is unavailable.
