HighLevel Updates: New Features for December 1-5, 2025

JSON variables in Agent Studio, Facebook and Instagram chat widgets, LinkedIn comment replies, AI send timing and a native desktop app.

The first week of December 2025 brought structured data handling to Agent Studio, two new Meta channels to chat widgets, LinkedIn comment replies to Social Planner, AI-chosen send times to email, and a native desktop app for macOS and Windows. Here is what shipped between December 1 and 5, and what it means in daily use. For the full month, see our December 2025 HighLevel updates roundup.

Agent Studio Adds JSON Variables and a Schema Editor

Agent Studio now supports a JSON variable type alongside string, boolean and number, across all three scopes: input variables, runtime variables captured during execution, and global variables. A new JSON Schema Editor provides a form-building interface for describing those structures, covering string, number, boolean, array, object and enum types.

The language model reads that schema during execution and builds runtime variables straight from a user query, making complex data extraction far more reliable than parsing free text. Nested values are reachable with dot notation, so user.address.city pulls a single field anywhere in the builder. Agencies running AI agents that collect addresses, order details or multi-field intake data can retire a stack of workaround variables.

Chat Widgets Expand to Facebook, Instagram and Voice AI

The all-in-one chat widget gained a Chat Type multi-select under the Style tab. You choose exactly which channels visitors see from live chat, SMS and email, Voice AI, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, and the preview updates instantly. Channels appear only when the matching integration exists in the sub-account.

Facebook Chat and Instagram Chat now also exist as standalone widget types. Each adds a setup accordion on the Chat Window tab for picking a connected page, and an in-place modal links more without leaving the builder. Visitors who click through land in Messenger or an Instagram DM, so a business with a Meta following can route website traffic into the inbox its team already watches. Build these under Sites, Chat Widgets, New, then embed with Get Code.

Social Planner Handles LinkedIn Comments

Comment management, already live for Facebook and Instagram, now covers LinkedIn Pages. Under Marketing, Social Planner, Comment Management, you can reply, like, mention users by username search, add emoji, and answer one level of threaded replies within LinkedIn's 3,000 character limit. Personal profiles are excluded because of API restrictions. For social teams, folding three networks into one inbox removes constant app switching.

Templates were cleaned up too: they now carry a filterable Type, either Post at 1080 by 1080 or Story/Reel at 1080 by 1920, with existing templates migrated and size-based names removed.

Conversations Picks the Best Time to Send

AI Schedule is a new send-timing option for email. You set a window, for example the next 48 hours, and the system reviews the recipient's past engagement behavior, then schedules the message for the strongest predicted moment inside it. When a contact has too little history, the email sends immediately. Timing drives open and reply rates, and this hands the guesswork to the platform.

SLA settings also recognize TikTok now, so response timers apply to TikTok conversations like any other channel. The Web Chat channel, previously labeled Live Chat, shows the correct name across modals and tooltips, with translation support added.

Calendars Cut Rebooking and Missed Meetings

Unpaid service appointments are fully editable from the appointment modal: services, add-ons, staff, service variants, location, title, date and time, time zone and coupon code, with no cancel-and-rebook cycle. Paid appointments stay locked for structural changes, but a Duplicate Appointment action clones the booking so you can adjust and rebook quickly.

A separate alert catches appointments created without a meeting location or link, whether from a failed Zoom, Google Meet or Teams integration or a manual booking. The assigned user is notified by email, in-app, or both, and staff control it under Settings, My Staff, Notification Settings, Calendar Notifications. Event calendars gained a helper message and tooltip explaining how that type behaves differently.

HighLevel Runs as a Desktop App

A native desktop application is now available for macOS and Windows. It runs the platform outside the browser with faster load times, a dedicated workspace free of competing tabs, fewer crashes caused by extensions, native operating system notifications, and a pinnable dock or taskbar icon. Teams that live in the CRM all day get a steadier environment than a browser tab. App store listings, Linux support, sub-two-second cold starts and multi-agency login are on the roadmap.

Prospecting and Onboarding Open Up Inside Sub-Accounts

The Prospecting free tier was previously limited to the agency view, blocking agencies that run their own sub-account internally. It is now available in sub-accounts marked as an agency sub-account, switched on under Agency, Labs, Prospecting Free Tier in Sub-Accounts. Those sub-accounts can generate lead audit reports, sync leads into contacts and opportunities, and trigger workflows and email or SMS sequences. Premium Prospecting still covers white-labeled, client-facing resale.

The redesigned LaunchPad reached existing accounts too, replacing the old integration checklist with 21 outcome-oriented setup actions grouped into categories from foundational setup to website and monetization. Each includes a short white-label-friendly tutorial with picture-in-picture support, and completed steps check themselves off. Enable it at Agency Settings, Labs, the Sub-Account tab. Fewer setup questions means fewer onboarding hours you cannot bill.

Voice AI Testing Covers Outbound Calls

The Voice AI Agent Trial component now tests outbound scenarios, not just inbound. Choose Inbound or Outbound, then test by phone call or in the browser through the built-in web calling interface, with each scenario logged in call history. Outbound options appear only when outbound permissions are configured. Rehearsing a script before it dials real prospects keeps voice agents from burning a lead list, and our voice AI guide covers setup in more depth.

Smaller Improvements Worth Noting

  • Score editor: click anywhere in a formula to place the cursor, with arrow, Home and End keys.
  • Drag and drop now inserts fields exactly where you drop them in form and quiz builders.
  • Single products auto-select in form preview for payment and order summary.
  • Multiple terms and conditions fields are supported in surveys and quizzes, matching forms.
  • TikTok: real-time notifications, smarter contact merging, better workflow automation support and clearer error handling.
  • Failed emails in Conversations return more descriptive error messages.
  • Blogs: Cancel and Create buttons in Authors and Categories, better importer error reporting, a line spacing fix, and auto-generated slugs.
  • QR codes use less logo padding, applied to existing codes, with no effect on scanning.
  • Kollab: showcase cards on the home page spotlight Communities and Courses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a new integration for the Facebook and Instagram chat widgets?

A Facebook account must be connected in sub-account integration settings first. Without it, the builder directs you to connect one before creating either widget. If the account is connected but no pages are selected, a page selection modal opens.

Is the new LaunchPad applied to existing sub-accounts automatically?

No. It is opt-in through Agency Settings, Labs, the Sub-Account tab, where Manage lets you pick specific sub-accounts. Accounts that already had it need no changes.

Can any sub-account use the free Prospecting tier now?

Only sub-accounts explicitly marked as an agency sub-account, and only once the Labs toggle is on. Audit reports, lead generation and contact sync then work as they do in the agency view.

Try These Features Yourself

Two further changes were flagged as coming soon: a unified reselling screen and a refreshed integrations screen. We track everything still in testing on our beta watch page.

All of the above is included in the platform rather than sold as add-ons. To try these in your own account, Start a free 30-day GoHighLevel trial. Migrating from another system? The HubSpot comparison is a practical place to start.
