HighLevel Updates: New Features for December 15-19, 2025

Google Ads lead sync, sender domain checks for email campaigns, a WordPress staging toggle, smarter calendar slots and merge-safe workflows.

The third week of December 2025 brought a compact set of releases that mostly remove manual steps. Google Ads leads now sync into the CRM on their own, email campaigns validate the sender domain before sending, WordPress hosting gained a staging environment, and automations survive contact merges. Here is what shipped and why it matters.

A native Google Ads integration now runs at the sub-account level, creating a contact in your CRM every time someone submits a connected lead form. Find it under Sub-account, Settings, Integrations, connect the Google account tied to your advertising, and pick an ad account. One login can cover several ad accounts, with all active lead forms in a single list.

Enable campaign sync, map form fields to CRM fields, and the sync status turns active. A "Google Lead Form Submitted" trigger, filterable by ad account and form, means a paid search lead can get a text or a call in seconds instead of a manual export. The request carried more than 800 upvotes. Multiple Google accounts, automatic form mapping, and a re-sync control for older leads are planned next.

Email Campaigns Check the Sender Domain First

Campaigns used to fail when the sending address had a problem, such as a public mailbox address or a from address that did not match the selected sending domain. Sender Domain settings now sit in the send and schedule step under Marketing, Emails, Campaigns for accounts on the built-in email service.

On shared agency or platform domains, a public or shared address is corrected automatically so the send stays compliant. With one dedicated domain, the right sender is preselected and a mismatched address raises a clear error. With several domains, you can choose one or all of them and open your domain configuration from a quick link. Accounts on their own SMTP are unaffected. For teams running email marketing at volume, a warning beats a failed broadcast.

WordPress Hosting Adds a Live and Staging Toggle

A Live and Staging switch now sits in the WordPress hosting dashboard header, and every section updates to match the selected environment. A grey banner at the bottom of the screen confirms you are in staging, states that changes will not touch the live site, and shows the live URL.

Plugins, themes, users, debugging, and server settings such as phpMyAdmin and PHP version work in both environments. Domain management, production analytics, and cancellation stay live only, with unavailable areas clearly marked. Staging has its own URL and admin access and is separated from live traffic, with no change to data handling. For anyone maintaining client sites, that means testing a plugin update or a PHP bump without risking a page that generates leads.

Calendars Get Media Storage and Fairer Slot Math

Media Storage now works inside the Services (v2) module, so you can insert images wherever a service asset needs one: services, add-ons, staff photos, locations, and the company logo under Global Settings and Booking Page. Sources include your own uploads plus Unsplash, Pixabay, and Google Drive. One shared library keeps branding consistent and ends duplicate uploads.

Slot availability also became more accurate on calendars that allow several appointments per slot. An appointment spanning two slots used to block both outright; now it subtracts one unit of capacity from each slot it overlaps, and a slot closes only when its real limit is reached. With fifteen minute slots and five appointments per slot, a 10:15 to 10:45 booking leaves four openings in both. The logic covers personal, round robin, and event calendars, in the appointment modal and the public booking widget alike.

Workflows Survive Contact Merges and Gain Right-Click Editing

Merging duplicates no longer strands an automation. When the contact removed in a merge is enrolled in a workflow, its progress moves to the master contact and continues from the same step. If the master was already enrolled, the extra run stops and the original continues, with an explanatory note, and a Contact Merge entry appears in the execution logs. A live chat guest who later supplies a matching email keeps their follow-up sequence instead of losing it or getting messaged twice.

The Workflow Builder also gained a right-click menu. Right-clicking an action block opens copy, move, delete, and notes at the cursor, including acting on all actions from that point forward and pasting below. That is fewer trips to the three-dot menu when restructuring a long automation.

SaaS Configurator Cleanup Prevents Broken Plans

Seven usability and stability fixes landed across the SaaS Configurator and Manage Client. The most useful one blocks invalid saves: a plan or sub-account configuration with no features selected cannot be saved, and the save button stays disabled with clear messaging until one is chosen. That removes a recurring source of backend errors and broken client accounts.

Agencies with multiple payment providers get a redesigned modal at plan creation showing which provider will bill the customer, useful when working out how to price a plan. Rebilling tabs were renamed to "Phone System" and "Email", the Discard button in the Features tab now resets unsaved changes, the Category dropdown scrolls, the custom menu link picker is paginated, and rejecting a pending sub-account returns you to the sub-accounts list.

Smaller Improvements Worth Noting

  • Phone numbers: new availability across additional key countries.
  • Asana: actions and triggers added to workflows.
  • Snapshots: load time optimizations.
  • Conversations: email text can now be selected.
  • Email: backend support for spam score analysis.
  • Phone system: further quality and performance work.
  • SaaS Mode: full internationalization support.

Two items were named as coming soon: Custom Object Templates and a Marketing Messages alpha on Facebook Messenger, both tracked on our beta watch page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a third-party tool to capture Google Ads leads?

No. The integration is built in at the sub-account level. Connect the Google account linked to your ad accounts, enable campaign sync, and map form fields to CRM fields. Leads then create contacts and can trigger workflows with no external connector.

Can changes made in WordPress staging break my live site?

No. Staging is isolated from live traffic, runs on its own URL with separate admin access, and a persistent banner shows which environment you are in. Live-only functions such as domain management, production analytics, and cancellation are not exposed there.

What happens to an active workflow if I merge two contacts?

It continues under the master contact. If the master was not enrolled, the in-progress run transfers and resumes. If it was already enrolled, the duplicate run stops so nobody gets messaged twice, and a Contact Merge entry is written to the execution logs.
