HighLevel Updates: New Features for February 2-6, 2026

OpenRouter brings 300-plus AI models to workflows, Monday.com goes native, tag filters gain operators, and bulk WhatsApp learns to drip.

The first full week of February 2026 was heavy on automation plumbing: hundreds of AI models wired into workflows, native Monday.com sync, sharper trigger filtering, and bulk messaging that paces itself. Here is what landed between February 2 and February 6, 2026. The wider month sits in our February 2026 HighLevel updates roundup.

Workflows Reach 300-Plus AI Models Through OpenRouter

A new OpenRouter app is available as a workflow action. Its Generate Response step sends a prompt to any of more than 300 models and returns output you can reuse in later steps, custom fields, messages, or conditions. You supply an optional system prompt for role and tone, a required prompt that can carry workflow variables, and a model choice. Authenticate with an OpenRouter API key.

That lets an agency produce personalized emails, texts, and form summaries inside the automation. Watch the billing: these are premium workflow actions at standard automation rates, and model usage is invoiced by OpenRouter, since no AI credits are bundled. Our overview of AI features in the platform sets the context, and the native AI page shows what works without an outside key.

Native Monday.com Automation Replaces the Middleman

Monday.com now connects directly to workflows, removing Zapier, Make, or a custom webhook from the chain. Actions cover creating, updating, archiving, and deleting boards, groups, columns, items, and subitems, pulling every item from a board, and finding items by ID or column value. A test action runs a step before it goes live and saves the returned schema for use downstream.

Triggers that fire on Monday side activity, such as a column value change or an item moving between groups, are listed as coming soon.

Trigger Tag Filters and Contact Lookups Get More Precise

The filter formerly labeled Has Tag is now simply Tag, with two new operators. Any of fires when at least one selected tag is present, None of fires when none are, and all four operators accept several tags at once. Stack multiple Tag filters inside one trigger, joined by AND logic, and negative filtering gets easy: match contacts tagged Lead while excluding anyone tagged Low Quality. It is live on the Contact Created and Contact DND triggers.

Find Contact can also look past primary fields. Tick the checkbox under a phone or email field and the search covers additional numbers and addresses on the record, closing a failure mode where a valid contact went unmatched.

The Standard Builder Adds Pause Toggles and Drag-and-Drop

Individual actions can be switched off without being deleted. Hover a node, flip the pause toggle, and it dims on the canvas and is skipped at run time. If that node was the only route onward, contacts pass through to the active steps. Re-enable it later with no rebuilding, which beats deleting steps and risking logic you already built. The same builder also accepts drag-and-drop: hold a trigger or action in the sidebar and drag it onto the canvas, where a highlighted placeholder shows exactly where it will land. Drop, configure, save, done.

Conversation AI Follow-Ups Arrive in the Flow Builder

Auto Follow-Up, previously limited to prompt based bots, now runs on flow based builder bots. The bot recognizes when a contact goes quiet, says they are busy, or names a time to be contacted, then schedules an outbound message and cancels it once the contact replies. Send an AI written message, write your own, or fire a workflow instead, restrict sending to working hours, and let the bot switch channels.

Nothing sends while the bot is inactive. A reply resets the schedule for the stopped-responding case but not for busy or requested-time follow-ups. Keep delays realistic so recovered leads do not read your outreach as spam.

Bulk WhatsApp Sending Gains Scheduling and Drip Modes

Bulk WhatsApp actions no longer have to go out in one burst. Send at Scheduled Time delivers a single batch at a timezone aware date and time, while Send in Drip Mode spreads delivery out. Configure messages per batch, a repeat interval in days, specific days of the week, and an optional sending window, then track execution from the Bulk Actions page.

Pacing a large send keeps you inside WhatsApp sending limits and avoids the deliverability hit that follows a spike. Our WhatsApp setup guide covers the basics, and the official WhatsApp overview explains the integration.

Marketing Audit Reports Run for Any Lead Source

A Generate Marketing Audit Report workflow action means the report is no longer tied to leads created through the Prospecting tool. Any contact qualifies, whatever the origin: paid social, funnels, landing pages, web forms, manual entry, imports, or the API. Trigger a workflow on contact creation and the audit runs against that lead's business details.

Output spans website performance and core web vitals, Google Business Profile and listings health, SEO and local search opportunities, and reputation signals. Route that into lead scoring, segmentation, or nurture branches and every lead arrives with a documented reason to start a conversation.

Email Building, RSS Publishing, and Course Access Improve

The Email Builder has a cleaner interface, and its edit panel can sit on the right so AI generation and manual editing work side by side. Email AI entered Labs as Beta 2.0, adding generation from a reference preview URL or image, an Assist Mode that guides prompt writing, deeper Brand Board integration, conversational editing, and version history. Both need Email AI switched on from Agency Labs sub-account features. Our email marketing guide covers campaign setup.

Social Planner RSS automation gained an option to publish item descriptions instead of titles only, a preview of up to five feed items, and per platform character handling, so choosing Bluesky no longer caps other networks at 300 characters. In Communities, admins can grant or revoke course access per member, and a new Private course type stays locked until an admin opens it.

Smaller Improvements Worth Noting

  • Marketplace apps support multiple OAuth connections. One installed app can hold several external accounts, each identified by name, email, or account ID, with encrypted token storage and managed refresh. Newly added apps only.
  • Ask AI improved measurably. Accuracy moved from 43 percent to 78 percent, token use per request fell roughly 32 percent, and p95 latency dropped by roughly 32 seconds.
  • Task notifications can stay quiet. A toggle under Settings, then Notifications stops the daily due and overdue summary when there is nothing on the list.
  • An AI page builder for WordPress entered Labs. Pick a niche, goal, and vibe, generate a landing page, then edit it as a standard Elementor page. Each site gets 12 credits per month.
  • Custom Views added a logged in user filter, the AI workflow builder generates faster, and the Assets DRM client SDK moved to 1.4.1.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does using OpenRouter in a workflow cost extra?

Yes, on both sides. OpenRouter steps are premium workflow actions billed at standard automation rates, and model usage is charged separately by OpenRouter. No AI credits are bundled.

Can Monday.com activity trigger a workflow yet?

Not yet. Actions that push from HighLevel into Monday.com are available now, while triggers that fire on Monday side events are listed as coming soon.

Will pausing a workflow node break the steps below it?

No. A paused node is dimmed and skipped, and when it is the only path onward, contacts move past it and run the remaining active steps. Switching it back on restores the original behavior.
