HighLevel Updates: New Features for January 19-23, 2026

Agent Studio version control and routing, SmartLists 2.0 goes live, listings force sync, Google Forms actions, and external site analytics.

The third week of January 2026 was heavy on foundation work. AI agents picked up real version control, the rebuilt contact list left beta for every account, and automations gained a native Google Forms connection. Here is what shipped between January 19 and January 23, 2026, and why it matters for agencies and small businesses. The wider month sits in our January 2026 HighLevel updates roundup.

Agent Studio Adds Version Control, Routing, and Templates

Building an agent no longer creates a live copy automatically. Only a staging version exists until someone deliberately promotes it, and a history sidebar keeps staging and production separated. Any earlier production version can be previewed, restored, or cloned into a new agent, so a variation gets tested without touching the one answering customers.

A router tool arrived alongside it. The AI router reads intent from natural language, the conditional router matches a stored variable, and node settings moved into a floating panel so the graph stays visible. A template library completes the set: agencies publish agent templates to sub-accounts, which deploy them in one click, alongside four official starter templates. That turns a bespoke AI service offering into something repeatable across a client roster.

Contacts List View and SmartLists Reach Every Account

After a beta period, the redesigned contact list and SmartLists 2.0 are on for all customers. Sorting, field management, and advanced filtering sit in one workflow, columns support quick search and drag and drop reordering, and the filter builder handles AND and OR logic. Sharing now grants view or edit access per user, so handing a sales rep a read only slice of a client database takes two minutes. Our CRM overview shows where SmartLists fit.

Workflows Connect to Google Forms and Handle Waits Better

Native Google Forms actions remove a common reason to pay for an outside connector. Automations can locate a form by ID or name, fetch one response by ID, or retrieve every response with pagination, and each action carries Found and Not Found branches. A New Response trigger polling every five minutes is listed as coming soon.

Wait step generation in the AI builder also improved. One prompt can describe several waits at once, mixing plain delays, business hour windows, and reply based waits with timeouts. Negative values are blocked, units normalized, and extreme numbers capped. Separately, refreshing a snapshot that deletes a step no longer strands contacts on it. They clear automatically, a notice appears on your next visit, and execution logs record the reason.

Local Listings, SEO Projects, and Marketing Audits

Listing updates stuck in a publisher queue can now be pushed forward. Force sync works at entity level for Yext and Uberall, and at individual publisher level for Yext, so one stale Google or Apple Maps record gets nudged without resyncing everything. Our listings guide covers setup.

The SEO tool caps site projects at four, and you can finally delete one to free a slot, though deletion rolls back every fix that project applied and cannot be undone. Local marketing audits in sub-account reporting also became configurable. Confirm name, address, phone, website, and the Google Business Profile before the first run, refresh instantly whenever something changes, and browse twelve months of history on a timeline. Audits export as PDFs in several languages, and settings control run frequency, email delivery, and section order.

Social Planner Category Queues Become Editable

Changing a category queue used to mean rebuilding it. A three dot menu now opens editing for the caption, posting frequency, timeslots, and post order via drag and drop. A weekly and monthly calendar view makes gaps and overlaps obvious, and a reschedule option shifts every post to a new start date using existing frequency rules. A preference setting decides whether new content lands at the top or the end, and posts can join a queue from the composer. Rescheduling a single post remains unsupported.

Form and Quiz Submissions Share More Cleanly

Submission PDFs were redesigned for easier reading, with a dropdown to pick the new or legacy layout across forms, surveys, and quizzes. Email notifications can attach the submission PDF automatically, and quizzes add a second option for the results page PDF, so a scored assessment reaches the lead without a manual export. Multi slide surveys also retain answers when respondents move back and forth, which quietly protects completion rates.

Conversations Tighten WhatsApp Number Handling

Teams running several WhatsApp numbers per location get explicit control over which one sends. The location default is preselected on new threads, active conversations lock to the number tied to the running 24 hour session, and switching numbers deliberately hands off to approved template messaging so compliance rules hold. Contacts with multiple phone numbers keep independent conversation states. Unread counts now refresh in real time and stay visible from any tab, and dates use a month name such as Jan 5 rather than an ambiguous numeric format. If you are weighing WhatsApp as a client channel, our WhatsApp guide walks through setup.

Site Analytics, Redirects, and Account Security

A new analytics view reports on externally hosted pages and forms carrying the tracking script: page views, form views, responses, and completion rate over a chosen range, plus daily charts, average time on page, filters by domain, page, and form, and breakdowns by device, browser, and location. Average time data begins on January 20, 2026.

URL redirects were rebuilt as a guided popup. Choose a source domain, redirect a specific path or the entire domain, and point traffic at a custom URL, funnel step, website page, or an external domain never connected to the account. Live previews and inline validation catch mistakes, and source settings lock after creation. On security, changing a phone number now requires two factor verification, codes never go to the number being added, and attempts are capped at five per user daily. Third party calendar details also stay hidden and show as busy under Login As.

Smaller Improvements Worth Noting

  • The service booking public API for calendars is live.
  • Blog read time estimates are more accurate and previews display better.
  • Social Planner posts can be published through push notifications.
  • A rebuilt integrations page is in Labs, with a card layout, search, per account disconnect, and one unified accounts modal.
  • That rebuild halved unused JavaScript and raised the accessibility score from 77 to 90.
  • Google, Clio, and Slack integrations moved off the legacy app engine onto the marketplace backend.
  • Conversation Views, also in Labs, saves frequent conversation filters as reusable views that admins can share.
  • Animation settings for hover, click, and tap plus native WhatsApp calling were flagged as upcoming.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does deleting an SEO site project remove the fixes it applied?

Yes. Deleting frees one of the four slots immediately, but every optimization that project applied, including funnel path, blog path, and external fixes, is rolled back too. The action is permanent.

Can Google Forms submissions trigger an automation yet?

Not yet. The actions that search forms and pull responses are live now. The New Response trigger, which polls a selected form roughly every five minutes and fires once per submission, is listed as coming soon.

What changes for agents already running in Agent Studio?

Only a staging version is created going forward, and a production version exists solely when someone promotes one. Earlier production versions stay in the history sidebar, ready to preview, restore, or clone into a new agent.

Try These Features Yourself

Version controlled AI agents, native Google Forms actions, and analytics for pages hosted outside the platform all shrink the stack of separate subscriptions an agency has to justify.
